Twenty-five years ago during a very difficult time, I was praying and seeking wisdom from the Bible.
I read Philippians 4:10-19 (NAS). I am sure I had read these verses before, but this night, they changed my perspective and have influenced me ever since. While establishing RGM, I have continued to seek out these verses and the promises they contain.
13: I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.
I have had to learn so many new things since starting RGM. There are times that it has been overwhelming, but this verse reminds me that it isn’t about my abilities but what God can do through me. On those days that I am unsure of what to do next, I pray and take the next step, trusting that God will continue to guide me.
19: And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
Decades ago, this verse changed me, secured me, and comforted me. It has shaped my life and encouraged me to live generously. That night, I was overcome at the moment that all the earth and everything in it is God’s. I knew without a doubt that His supplies are limitless and that He will always meet my needs. I remind myself of God’s generosity when I think about RGM.
RGM is about serving God’s people.
God is about meeting His people’s needs.
When I keep these truths at the front of my mind, the worries that I won’t be able to do this or supply the needs to make this happen disappear.
God’s generosity continues to show up and I am so grateful to be a part of this story. What an amazing journey this is!
Thank you for being a part of it!
