What are you Grateful for?
For almost 40 years we gathered at my Grandparent’s farm in South Georgia for Thanksgiving. It is a beautiful memory for me.
My Grandma would get all the dishes set out buffet style and cover them to keep warm. However, I never actually had a hot Thanksgiving meal, because once the food was ready, she would have us all gather in the yard.
At a minimum there would be 20 relatives and their friends. We would circle up and hold hands and then everyone was required to go around the circle and say what they were most grateful for.
Most of us were concise with our words, but a few of my uncles always had a lot to say. As a kid, I didn’t cherish this moment as much as I do the memories of it now.
Today, I would be the one to share a long list of what I am grateful for and you would be mentioned!
